A Minnesota summer is not complete without some time spent at a lake cabin up north. Last weekend we traveled to Detroit Lakes to a rented cabin on Cormorant Lake. It was a beautiful place and we by no means were roughing it! It was a great time, thank you Nana and Papa for this wonderful family weekend!
Lucia packed her Care Bears suitcase full of the weekend essentials (two dolls, her swimsuit, and a Dora book) and hauled it out to the car to help in the packing. The four hour trip was a breeze with Auntie Ri Ri entertaining her favorite niece in the backseat.
In the three nights and four days we spent there we packed in plenty of essential cabin activities. Playing in the lake and on Nana's paddleboard, reading in lounge chairs on the deck, golfing, shopping, cooking, games, fort building, hair braiding, loon counting, and running (well, Mark is only one who ran). Side note: Mark is now a serious runner! He went on his longest run last weekend, almost 13 miles! Proud of him.
Nana is a master hair braider, as she's had lot of practice on me and Kaari. Lucia sat like a big girl for her first french braids. Look at those spindly little things, I love them.
This was an afternoon yoga session by the lake. Lucia was holding her own with plank position.
OK, these next pictures are my favorite. My girl and her Daddy playing in the evening sun by the lake.
Enjoy these summer days! Love, The Blasecks
